The storm hit us last Tuesday!

The storm that came from the mid-west named Bill finally hit the east coast.

Above shows a lamp post in a park blown over.

This pic above is typical corner flooding issues found in so many places.

The lighting was the scariest part for me.  Grateful the rains had cooled things off enough that it was not a necessity to have the air conditioning running.

Keeping my fingers crossed that this years shore climate remains stable.  No major storms please Mother Nature!

The Green House is no 'mo

Turns out that the fire that ripped through the above named rooming/boarding house could not be saved for 1 reason or another.

I've heard, that the house was ordered to be taken down due to safety concerns.  That is totally understandable when a fire destroys a structure.  Plus the neighborhood is full of children awaiting summer adventures.

It was, in my opinion, a good idea that it was taken down, for safety's sake at least.  Albeit, I must admit, I'm sad to see it go.  It's time was well served. Many a many mother & child was put up there when times got tough and homelessness could of been the next step.  Many a newly released prisoner could get a roof over their head instead of a concrete & bar view.  Many a Rescue Mission and / or Salvation Army program graduates were assisted with housing by it standing.  As I said before, it's time was well served, well served indeed. TY Green House for the warmth & hope to so many!

OK, well...now I'm wondering what will be put there in it's stead?  Are there enough parking lots in A.C.?  LOL  (If anyone knows please advise, much appreciated.)

Green House After Fire

Local rooming house was completely destroyed due to a fiery inferno on Saturday, April 26th.  Over 12 Atlantic City residents of the Green House were displaced.  See my original posting on G+, from NBC 40's reporter, for more info.  The Green House

A local source told me that the ACFD officials were confused when they entered the rooming house on Saturday.  There seemed to of been unreported changes to the interior floor plans.  The brave firefighters found themselves entering closets where rooms were supposed to be, making their job even more difficult to clear the fiery blaze.

Green House's Demolition

Demolition began on Tuesday, April 29th. Extreme wind and heavy rains delayed completion of demotion on Wednesday.
